Turk is a licensed USCG Captain. His love affair with boats began in the mid-1970s. At that time, he owned a 19′ bowrider and eventually graduated to a 45′ aft cabin “live-aboard,” owning several fishing boats in between. During the 1980s and 1990s, he frequently moved large fishing boats from Maryland to Florida. Turk’s love affair with boating continues as a Pier One Yacht Sales broker. Before moving to Venice, Florida, in 2006, Turk lived in Annapolis, Maryland, for 28 years. He owned and operated a successful engineering and equipment retail company during that time. He was also a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club for more than 25 years. He is currently a member of the Venice Yacht Club, where he served as Fleet Captain and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2014.
