Jean is a native of Belgium; he has been a resident of the Chicago area since 1981 and used to sail on Lake Michigan. With his wife, Mila, he moved to Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda in 2006 and ran a local sailboat charter business and sailing school there for seven years. He keeps his 32’ sailboat in Burnt Store Marina and still teaches sailing. Jean is a licensed USCG Master 100T certified American Sailing Association sailing instructor. He has over twenty years of sailing experience in the USA and Europe (Mediterranean) and can assist you fluently in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish.
